How acne occur?

Do you know that most common acne is the type that develops during the teen years? It causes by puberty. Puberty causes hormone levels to raise, especially testosterone. Testosterone is one of the hormones needed for sexual development and is present in both males and females. Testosterone is considered an androgen, which is a male sex hormone, because it is made in much higher amounts in men than in women.

High hormone signal skin glands to stat making more oil or we call that sebum. Oil releases from the pores to protect the skin and keep it moist. But, acne begins when oil mixes with dead cells and clogs the skin’s pores. When this happen, bacteria can grow in this mixture and if leaks into nearby tissues, it can cause swelling, redness and pus. A common name for these raised bumps is call pimple. The figure you see below show how pimple start and when it becomes worsen, it can change to acne.

Beside that, medication also can cause of acne. This type of acne usually clears up when you stop taking the medication. So, if you think you acne occurs of medication, try to stop it right now and see what happen.
